Description from the seller
An extraordinary Glenfarclas 1953 58-year-old single malt Scotch whisky, bottled on 13 February 2012 from cask #1674 after nearly six decades of maturation. This vintage release represents the oldest whisky ever released by Glenfarclas distillery at the time, with only 400 numbered bottles produced.
The whisky was selected by an expert panel including Serge Valentin, and is bottled at cask strength, natural colour and non-chill-filtered. Matured in a first-fill American oak sherry cask, this dram displays compelling depth with complex layers developed over 58 years. On the nose and palate reviewers have noted rich fruit, spices, wood influence and remarkable balance, with spiritedmatters describing underlying savoury and fruity complexity even after long maturation.
Critics have lauded this bottling: Gal Granov (Whisky Israel) gave it 96/100, calling it “a celestial experience”. Olivier Klimek of Dramming scored it 95/100, urging collectors to enjoy it if they can. Jason Johnstone-Yellin described it as “absolutely remarkable for a 58 Year Old, luscious and decadent”, and Dan Cave called it “a piece of history”.
Whiskybase community ratings average above 93 points among contributing reviewers.
This is a highly collectible and historically significant Speyside whisky, ideal for connoisseurs and investors alike.
