The volumes are in very good condition.

It is a two-volume work, often considered one of the best on World War I.
The album is richly illustrated: numerous photos, drawings, black and white maps, as well as color plates tipped-in outside the text. A fold-out map is included at the end of the work.
The content is a chronological reconstruction of the war, based on photographs and drawings published by L’Illustration between 1914 and 1921.

Book I: The last hours of peace, the invasion, the saved country, the trench warfare.
Volume II: The year 1917, the distant fronts, the last German offensives, the Foch Republic.
