Exceptional set from the first French edition (1891-1892) of the famous Memoirs of General Baron Marcellin Marbot, a major primary source of the Napoleonic wars.

Volume II — 'Madrid — Essling — Torrès-Védras' (41st edition, October 1891)
Volume III — "Polotsk — La Béresina — Leipzig — Waterloo" (43rd edition, October 1891)

Facsimiles of autographs: heliographic reproductions of original handwritten documents by General Marbot (letters, signatures).

Documented legal deposits: official ministerial attestations (May and October 1891)

Vintage handcrafted reliquaries made from fawn-colored morocco leather (goat skin) with prestigious gold embellishments.

Heliographic portraits: Frontispieces in two stages of a military career.

✓ Three complete volumes: increasing rarity — most sets are incomplete.

Documented provenance

Handwritten inscription dated 1901. Certification of acquisition by a contemporary French collector.

Format: 22.5 cm × 14.5 cm

Bindings: fawn morocco, gilding partially worn but visible.
Pages: Legible, with natural patina of appropriate period, light normal foxing.
General condition: Good for its time (135 years).
Integrity: three solid bindings, well-bound pages, no major restoration.
