Dai display stand from Japan of the Shōwa period, with a top carved from a single burl slice featuring a natural edge and root knots, supported by four baluster feet on a later base, dimensions 65 cm x 46.5 cm x 15.5 cm, in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
A solid, thick-cut dai 台 (display stand), raised on four baluster-shaped feet connected by stretchers.
The top is carved from a single, solid slice of burl wood, retaining a beautifully irregular natural edge with pronounced root knots. The surface reveals an expressive and richly patterned wood grain, finished in warm and dark brown tones and showing an attractive aged patina.
Well suited for displaying decorative objects 置物 (okimono) or for presenting an elegant ikebana arrangement.

Dimensions:
Length 65 cm, Width 46.5 cm, Height 15.5 cm
In very good condition with signs of use. The base is a later marriage, and there are some chips to the feet. Please refer to the photos for a clear condition reference.
