Waterman’s Ideal Nº 454 fountain pen with a .800 silver overlay and black resin body, from the first half of the 20th century in the United States, in good used condition with minor signs of wear, 136.6 mm long and 11.4 mm in diameter, lever-fill system, original 14K Waterman’s Ideal nib with intact iridium and a personalized engraving 'Christy O’Reilly'.
Description from the seller
Waterman’s fountain pen No. 14 with body and cap in gold-plated sterling silver, decorated with guilloché pattern and personalized engraving 'Christy O'Reilly'. It retains all its well-defined contrast stamps. The silver shows signs of age-appropriate use: micro-scratches distributed across the surface and slight handling marks, with no heavy dents or structural deformations. The ebonite of the butt and section displays a uniform tone, with no visible cracks or fissures.
Plumín original Waterman’s Ideal 14K in very good condition, with the iridium intact and well centered, clean channel, and no signs of torsion. The ebonite feed retains its fins sharply. The filling system is operated by a functional lever; the lever moves correctly, although, as with any vintage piece, replacement of the rubber sac is recommended before intensive use.
Overall, it is a vintage Waterman's nº 14 pen with a contrasted silver overlay and custom engraving, in good condition for its age, ready for collection or to be written with again after basic servicing.
It will be sent in a courtesy box for proper preservation.
