DESCRIPTION
Expressive Mediterranean landscape by Valeri Farràs, rendered with a clearly expressionist and lyrical language, where color and brushwork take center stage over academic description.
The composition shows a field of olive trees treated as vertical and organic rhythms, with an architectural tower in the background reduced to a visual symbol, creating depth through chromatic superposition rather than classical perspective. The palette, dominated by blues, water greens, and turquoises, is balanced by subtle warm accents that add tension and vitality to the scene.
The brushstroke is quick, confident, and gestural, with no visible corrections, conveying a sense of immediacy and pictorial honesty. It is not a decorative landscape, but an emotional interpretation of the Mediterranean territory.
A particularly attractive work for collectors of Spanish contemporary painting, with affinities to Catalan landscape expressionism from the second half of the 20th century.
