Lisbet Cuellar (XX), Introspección, oil painting on canvas, 77 × 57 cm, 2025, Original edition from Spain, hand-signed, in excellent condition; a contemporary figurative portrait of a nude male figure with an introspective mood.
Description from the seller
Oil on canvas
Dimensions: 77cm x 57cm
Description:
This work presents a naked male figure approached from a contemporary figuration with a strong introspective charge. The body, represented with anatomical precision and a careful modulation of light, becomes a territory for psychological reflection rather than a mere formal exercise.
The face partially hidden by the hands introduces a narrative of silence, retreat, and inner tension, moving the work away from descriptive representation to place it on a symbolic level. The closed posture and restrained gesture suggest an exploration of contemporary masculine identity, exposed and vulnerable, in contrast to traditional models of strength and control.
The green background, neutral and almost abstract in character, functions as a timeless space that isolates the figure and enhances its sculptural presence. The chromatic economy and compositional clarity reinforce the dialogue between body and emotion, situating the work within a contemporary figuration that connects with current discourses on intimacy, consciousness, and subjectivity.
A solid and reflective piece, designed for collectors interested in contemporary figuration, the study of the human body, and the psychological dimension of portraiture.
