Ramiro Segrelles, Charca, original oil painting (30 cm by 60 cm, 2 kg) depicting a Mediterranean landscape, signed by hand, in excellent condition, Spain, dating from 1990–2000.
Description from the seller
The work depicts a natural landscape of Mediterranean environment, attributable to a wetland or marsh area, with spontaneous vegetation and shallow water rendered through a strongly tactile painting. The horizontal composition emphasizes the perception of space and the silence of the landscape, inviting a slow and contemplative reading.
The pictorial surface is built up with dense, layered strokes applied with a brush and spatula. The vegetation is defined by incised marks in the fresh paint, a distinctive element that gives rhythm and dynamism to the composition. The palette, dominated by greens, ochres, grays, and blues, conveys a natural and vibrant light, typical of the Valencian landscape.
The water is not depicted realistically but rather suggested through horizontal movements of the material, creating reflections and depth without resorting to detail.
• Decisive use of textured paint
• Application of color with spatula and gestural brush strokes
• Incisions and scratches in the pictorial material
• Balance between figuration and abstraction
• Strong attention to light and landscape structure
The input is a dash character, which does not require translation.
