Identity as surface
Identity manifests as a constructed surface: a skin where gestures, objects, and decisions overlap. The body appears fragmented, not as absence, but as a strategy to indicate what is shown and what is hidden. Flesh and framing delineate an unstable territory, traversed by tensions between the intimate and the social.
Jewelry acts as a symbolic prosthesis: it does not protect, but it weighs; it does not define, but it signals. It functions as an external archive, an illusion of permanence attached to a vulnerable body. In that friction between ornament and flesh, identity is momentarily sustained on the surface.
Medium: Oil in stick form and oil paint on waterproofed canvas handmade by the artist.
Dimensions: 100 x 80 cm
Technique: Painting carried out in layers over a preliminary drawing using various pictorial techniques.
