Quadrate is an original geometric abstract lithograph by Wolf Barth (1926–2010), numbered 6/75 and signed, framed, dating from around 1965–1980, produced in France on Arches paper, with a large format of approximately 75.5 × 56 cm.
Description from the seller
Original print of geometric abstraction created around 1965–1980 by Wolf Barth (1926–2010), an artist active in the field of European abstract art of the second half of the 20th century.
The composition features a rigorous structure of nested geometric shapes, printed in flat layers of overlapping colors, with slight registration shifts visible. These characteristics are typical of a workshop silkscreen / stencil work, involving multiple successive color passes.
The work is signed in pencil 'Barth' and numbered 6/75 (handwritten inscription on the back), indicating a limited edition of 75 copies, an important detail for print collectors.
The print was made on Arches paper (France), identifiable by its watermark 'ARCHES' accompanied by the infinity symbol (∞), a reference art edition paper widely used between the 1950s and 1980s.
The large format (approximately 75.5 × 56 cm) is uncommon for an print of this period and highlights an ambitious and professional production.
An authentic and coherent work consistent with Wolf Barth's geometric abstract production, intended for a collector of modern art, abstraction, or 20th-century prints.
