Montblanc Writers Edition Homage to Jane Austen Limited Edition, in precious resin, made in Germany, dating from 2010–2020, in as-new condition and never used, with a 10 mm diameter and 10 mm length.
Description from the seller
Montblanc created the Writers Edition Homage to Jane Austen to celebrate one of the most famous authors of English literature. This edition brings to life the Regency era, when noble country estates hosted grand parties organized to cultivate social relationships and forge marriage alliances. The groove of a classical column adorns the elegant body in gray sandstone resin, along with Jane Austen's signature. The contrasting blue-gray cap recalls the double-collared Regency coat typically worn by gentlemen like Mr. Darcy in Pride and Prejudice. Gold-finish rings on the body and platinum-finish details add a final touch of style to the design. The Roman numerals XLIII engraved on the cap ring refer to the chapter of the novel where Elizabeth Bennet first sees Mr. Darcy’s estate. The title page of her novel Sense and Sensibility, published in 1811, simply stated that the work was written 'by a lady.' This author’s declaration adorns the top of the cap of the Writers Edition Homage to Jane Austen Limited Edition, along with the Montblanc emblem. The silhouette of the writing instrument itself resembles a wax seal. The clip is as distinctive as the cap. Shaped like a braided cord with a drawstring closure, it recalls a 'reticule,' a type of small purse used by women around 1800 to carry powder, a mirror, and an essential pocket handkerchief.
