The Muse of Cadaqués

A sea urchin between the lips, like a taste of iodine and silence.
She does not speak, she remembers.
In her black embroidered dress of the sea, she embodies a fragment of memory, a mirage from Cadaqués.

I created this work as one creates a sad song: to speak the unspeakable, to make this nostalgia for a childhood that never happened exist, but which I have dreamed of a hundred times.
When I dive in Cadaqués, I sometimes eat sea urchins on the rocks. Their taste takes me back to who I am, to what I seek to convey here.

This muse is my connection to the sea.
It is the darkness that I love.
This is what I want to sell.
That's what I want to be.
