Montblanc Patron of Art Homage to Moctezuma I Edizione Limitata 4810 fountain pen in 18 kt gold (.750), made in Germany, with a 10 mm diameter and 10 mm length, limited to 4810 pieces, from the 2010–2020 period, in like-new condition and in working order.
Description from the seller
This limited edition fountain pen from the Montblanc Patron of Art series is dedicated to the brutal Aztec leader who ruled from 1440 to 1469, Moctezuma I. The meaning behind his name, 'angry as a lord,' suits his character. The period he reigned is seen as the golden age of the Aztec empire, a time when mythology and culture flourished at their peak. This prosperity was especially evident in Tenochtitlán, now known as Mexico City, the capital and heart of Mexico. Even today, the vibrant culture of that era is considered one of the most remarkable in world history. The pen features gold-colored champagne accents that reflect the golden age. These gold accents combine to form the shape of an alatl, a specific spear from Aztec culture. The lower ends of the pen display an obsidian knife, an Aztec sacrificial blade. Additionally, the body is made of a lacquered design in petrol blue and crimson red. The colors represent the royal cloak of the leader, and the two hieroglyphs on the cap symbolize the years Moctezuma was at the helm of the Aztec empire. The solid gold nib is engraved with the symbol of Tenochtitlán, which includes a cactus, a king’s diadem, and two scrolls. The pen is limited to 4,810 pieces, representing the height of Montblanc’s mountain, which rises to 4,810 meters.
