【Product details】

This charming incense container is crafted in the shape of a ripe persimmon, symbolising abundance and longevity in East Asian culture. The body is made from a natural gourd, carefully hollowed out and finished with black lacquer on the interior. The lid, carved from wood and coloured to resemble the persimmon's leafy cap and stem, fits snugly atop the vessel, enhancing its lifelike appearance.

Persimmons are often associated with good fortune and transformation, as the fruit ripens from hard and bitter to soft and sweet—a metaphor for the maturing of wisdom and virtue.

There are some blemishes from age, including a shallow dent with minor surface abrasion, and areas of lacquer loss inside the container. Please refer to the photos for condition details.

A delightful and symbolic piece, complete with its original wooden box.

Dimensions: approx. H 6.3 cm W 7 cm D 6.5 cm
