Description from the seller

Official Art Series Poster | Spanish Modernism | Serigraph on Paper

This is an original poster from the official 1972 Munich Olympics art series, designed by renowned Spanish sculptor and abstract artist Eduardo Chillida. Commissioned by Otl Aicher’s design team, Chillida’s contribution to this legendary project embodies his sculptural language through bold, architectural black forms.

Unlike commercial sports prints, this piece is part of the limited Edition Olympia 1972 — a cultural milestone that paired Olympic ideals with cutting-edge modern art. Other contributing artists included David Hockney, Tomi Ungerer, Serge Poliakoff, and Hans Hartung.

Officially commissioned artwork for the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich.
Part of a limited fine art series printed in Germany by Edition Olympia.
- Eduardo Chillida is widely collected and represented in major museums (Tate, MoMA, Reina Sofía).
A striking minimalist design that reflects the Bauhaus-inspired design ethos of the Munich Games.
Increasingly scarce in good condition — sought after by design and Olympic collectors alike.
