Huibert van Dorp, My Room, a 1990 oil on canvas measuring 195 × 225 cm, hand-signed and sold with frame by Galerie in the Netherlands.
Description from the seller
A unique work by Huibert van Dorp. The artwork is presented in a beautiful box frame. It is a large and imposing work, measuring 193 x 225 cm.
At art school, Huibert van Dorp initially chose to become a graphic designer. However, during his studies, he discovered that he preferred a "freer" form of expression. After graduating from the academy, he therefore chose to work as a visual artist. Graphic forms have always played a significant role in Van Dorp's work; illustrative elements such as devices, tables, and strange creatures resemble cartoon characters. Animals and people embark on a journey of discovery in his work; sometimes they meet and connect, other times they turn away from each other, each telling its own story. Van Dorp's works demonstrate a great originality. The artist's signature is unmistakable in every technique he employs. A certain anarchy prevails not only in his oil paintings, watercolors, and silkscreen prints, but also in countless objects he himself has constructed and painted. Existing laws are ignored, and even the law of gravity is challenged. The spaces are dream spaces. The seemingly slowly moving figures float in a cosmos where the mood is determined by a gradation of bright colours.
Viewing of the plot is always possible. All contact information can be found on our own website. Art Dumay has an in-house list-making workshop with nearly 100 years of experience. If you're interested, please contact us and we will be happy to assist you.
