Description from the seller
INTERIOR IN VENICE is a 70x100 cm painting by contemporary artist Ernest García. This painting invites viewers to contemplate Venice from the intimacy of a quiet interior, where domestic space and the exterior landscape dialogue through color and light. An open green door frames the view of the canal, with light-colored facades softly reflected in the water and small boats that seem to float calmly, adding depth and a sense of distance.
The interior is built with a vibrant and expressive palette: intense greens, warm reds, and golden ochres that envelop the scene in a cozy, Mediterranean atmosphere. The patterned curtains, rich in pictorial gestures, add rhythm and movement, contrasting with the serenity of the exterior. In the foreground, a simple chair and a small table with a vase of flowers create a point of rest, almost like a contemplative pause before stepping out into the world.
The loose and visible brushstroke enhances the feeling of everyday life, of a moment frozen in time. There are no human figures, but their presence is implied: someone has just opened the door, someone is silently watching the canal. The work conveys a blend of nostalgia and calm, a balance between the intimate and the open, between inner refuge and the eternal beauty of Venice waiting on the other side of the threshold.
