vintage gelatin silver print, titled Mont de Vénus (1978), is a rare and early work by the celebrated Spanish artist Joan Fontcuberta (b. 1955), known for his conceptual and narrative approach to photography. Executed on baryta paper, the composition showcases Fontcuberta's characteristic blending of visual illusion, irony, and philosophical inquiry. The image presents a minimalist yet psychologically charged garden scene, where the circular motif etched into the cobblestone foreground evokes both ritual and mystery—frequent themes in the artist’s oeuvre.
