Jordi Curós Ventura (Olot, Girona, 1930 – Barcelona, 2017) Painter and printmaker.
Born in Olot in 1930, after an initial artistic education at the School of Arts in his hometown, he worked in the religious imagery workshops of Olot, El Arte Cristiano. In the early 1950s, a restless group of artists from Girona formed the collective Indika, one of the country's first avant-garde groups. In 1954, he received a scholarship from the French Institute of Barcelona to study in Paris. Upon his return, he settled permanently in Barcelona. In 1958, the Barcelona City Council awarded him another scholarship to further his studies in Paris. This was the period of informalism, which he abandoned in the mid-1960s, coinciding with his entry into the Parés gallery in Barcelona, giving way to a more figurative style, which he continued to pursue thereafter.
