Signed by the artist at the bottom.
On the back, it is dated 1947 and titled, referring to the name of the bullfighter.
The work is presented within a frame.
Work dimensions: 73 cm high x 60 cm wide
Frame measurements: 79 cm in height x 66 cm in width.
Good condition overall, although I should mention that the paint is quite dirty.

Biography of the artist
Francisco Merenciano Puchol was a Spanish painter born in 1885 in Pueblo Nuevo del Mar (Valencia), the favorite disciple of Joaquín Sorolla, and was recognized at national and international exhibitions in the early 20th century.
He studied at the School of Fine Arts of San Carlos in Valencia and participated in the National Fine Arts Exhibition in Madrid in 1912, where he is mentioned as being from Cabañal (Valencia). His luminous and vibrant style reflects Sorolla's influence, focusing on landscapes, portraits, and everyday scenes.

He received awards such as an honorary mention at the 1906 General Exhibition and participated in events like the 1910 National Exhibition in Valencia. In 1927, the French critic Gustave Kahn dedicated an illustrated book to him in the collection 'Les Artistes Modernes,' highlighting him as a prominent figure despite his subsequent obscurity.
