Oil on panel measuring 29 x 39 cm, already significant in size, signed at the bottom right B Retaux and bearing the workshop stamp and an inventory number on the back. It depicts, as is often the case with the Orientalist painter, a view of Morocco.
Artist side friend of André Hambourg and Maurice Boitel, two winners of the Ab El tif prize for Orientalist painting in Algiers. Sold with a frame from the 1930s given with the artwork, so no claims should be made if the frame is damaged during transport.
