::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Esteban Wenceslao Viciana (1871–1961) was a painter born in Almería, Spain, primarily known for his oil on canvas works, excelling in still life and floral themes, as well as landscapes and some portraits. His artistic activity spans the late 19th century and the first half of the 20th century, placing him among the notable names of Almerian painting of his time.

After the Spanish Civil War, Viciana exhibited with notable success at the Galerías Layetanas in Barcelona in 1940. Several of his works, such as 'Paloma en su nido' (1941), 'Watermelon still life with swan,' and multiple floral still lifes, have been auctioned and are part of private and religious collections, for example, the work 'Virgen Inmaculada' (1900) donated to the parish church of San Pedro in Almería. His style is characterized by attention to detail and a balanced use of color, especially in representations of still lifes.

Viciana is also referenced in dictionaries and studies on Andalusian and Almerian painting as one of the figures who helped define the local artistic identity before the rise of the Indaliano Movement. His legacy remains alive in public and private collections, as well as in specialized art auctions.

There is no evidence of facets outside the visual arts context, nor recognition on an international scale; their importance mainly lies in the regional context and in contributing to Almería's artistic heritage.
