"Danseurs et musicien" belongs to the series of linocuts created by Pablo Picasso between 1958 and 1961. In this work we see one of the favorite subjects of the cubist master for linocuts: the bacchanals. Picasso creates the shapes and depth of the scenes through layers of tone which, from the lightest to the darkest, created a first sketch of the image, only in the end did he add the black lines that made up the actual drawing and that characterize the whole production of linocuts. This process gave, at the same time, a strong three-dimensional impact and an image full of stylistic details.
