Olga Tobreluts (1970 - ) Estonian, born in St. Petersburg
Ceramic bust, multi-color glaze.
Signed on the inside by O. Tobreluts, 1999 2/1
Olga Tobreluts is a prominent artist in the fields of sculpture, painting, and photography, and since the 1990s, also in digital art.
She calls her work Neo-Academisme, referencing motifs from Antiquity to the present.
This bust was exhibited for the first time at an exhibition of young Russian artists at Gasunie in Groningen in 2001.
She completed her education in St. Petersburg, and her debut opening exhibition at the Palace Bridge in 1989 was a great success. Subsequently, she participated in many exhibitions, including in the Netherlands. Her work can be found in many major galleries and museums worldwide, such as MoMa in New York, the Mario Testino Foundation, Museum Ludwig, the Baron von Stieglitz Museum, and many more.
