Aimé Van Belleghem was a Belgian artist born in 1922 in Beernem and who passed away in 1996 in Bruges. He was a self-taught painter. Son of Jos Van Belleghem. He mainly painted portraits (Bruges figures, notable people) and surrealist compositions. His works were finished delicately and in glacis technique. He painted portraits of, among others, the police judge Van Poucke and Achiel Van Acker. His work was purchased by the State in 1966. He is listed in the Lexicon of West Flemish visual artists IV and Two centuries of signatures of Belgian artists. (Piron)
