Six beautiful wood engravings by Frans Masereel from a private collection. The plates measure 27.5 by 19.3 cm, and the engravings are 15.5 by 11.5 cm. They are part of the 1964 published collection 'Mijn land'.
Frans Masereel (July 31, 1889 – January 3, 1972) was a Flemish painter and graphic artist who primarily worked in France, and was especially known for his woodcuts that focused on political and social themes such as war and capitalism. He completed more than 40 silent novels in his career.
