Created to showcase the beautiful range of The Macallan’s natural colour, Reflexion embodies the foremost influence of first fill sherry seasoned oak casks.

This exceptional single malt draws its colour and flavour from maturation in smaller hogshead casks, allowing a greater surface area of wood to interact with the whisky to deliver an intricate character influenced by both Spanish and American oak casks. The depth of colour and complex flavour of Reflexion is derived from the use of first-fill casks, carefully selected for this distinctive expression to accentuate its aromas and flavours. Bold and full bodied, Reflexion is a celebration of floral and vanilla notes, punctuated with fresh apples and apricots. This whisky's deep red mahogany hue, taken directly from the cask, is enhanced by the angular facets of the carefully crafted decanter that each reflect the light to showcase the depth of colour.


Part of the new 1824 Masters Series which sits above The Macallan 1824 Series. The 1824 Masters Series is made up of 3 new Macallan whiskies, The Macallan Rare Cask, Reflexion and No.6. They join the Macallan M which is at the top of the series.

TASTING NOTES

COLOUR
Blood orange.
NOSE: Fresh zest of orange and citrus fruits. A slight waxy note fades to fresh green apples. Robust notes of chocolate, thick fudge, boiled sweets, aniseed and caramel toffees with subtle white chocolate truffles. Fresh bananas and sweet oak arrives last.
PALATE: Initial light citrus zest with new oak gives way to the succulent sweetness of lemon and orange. Raisin, sultana and apple, with a hint of cinnamon and ginger, are subtle.
FINISH: Boiled sweets add balance to a glimpse of toasted oak to give a medium and soft finish.
