Description from the seller

This elegant Swan fountain pen, manufactured by Mabie Todd & Co. in England, features a striking Snakeskin green pearlescent finish, one of the most appreciated patterns for its deep shine and distinctive character. The piece retains exceptional vintage appeal and is highly collectible.

General condition of the body and cap

The body is in very good condition for its age, maintaining the original crosshatch pattern geometry without deformations or cracks. It has no personalized engravings, initials, or intrusive marks, only micro-scratches and superficial wear typical of use and age. The celluloid retains a uniform shine, with slight areas of discoloration typical of the material, but without structural losses.

The cap fits properly and closes securely. Its gold ring shows moderate wear of the plating, which is common in pieces from this period.

Metallic clips and decorations

The original Swan clip is present and secure, functioning correctly. It shows partial plating loss and micro-scratches consistent with the instrument's age. The clip button retains its classic spherical shape.
The metallic ornaments show uniform wear, with no dents or deformations.

Grip, screws, and operation.

The threads of the body and the cap are in good condition, screwing smoothly and without jumps.
The section retains its classic shape and is stable and crack-free.

Nib

Equipped with a Swan №1 gold 14-karat nib, which is in excellent condition: free of bends, bites, and with a well-formed iridium tip. The engraving remains clean and perfectly legible. The feed shows signs of use but functions correctly and has no visible obstructions.

Charging system

This model uses a lever filler system (lateral lever). The lever is secure, functions properly, and is flush with the body. The interior bag should be considered inspected or replaced according to the buyer's preference, as it is standard in vintage feathers of this age.

General overview

A highly decorative and collectible piece, featuring a rare green Snakeskin pattern that is difficult to find in good condition. Its aesthetic presentation is very attractive, balancing its history with remarkable preservation.

It will be sent in a courtesy box for proper preservation.
