Marlen dedicates this collection of 7 pens (available only in fountain pen form) to the 7 Chakras. Chakra is a Sanskrit word meaning wheel, circle, or solar disk, and is an attribute of the Hindu god Vishnu. According to yoga, there are 74 vital points in the human being (the chakras), whose activation allows for the acquisition of certain physical abilities, the attainment of happiness, and ultimately the awakening of consciousness. The chakras are then connected to the different aspects of humanity (mental, emotional, ethereal, etc.) through a series of channels called nadis, a kind of energy highway. But within these, there are 7 basic or main chakras, distributed from the lower part of the spine, where the kundalini (a tangled, snake-like energy that needs to be awakened) is present, to the highest part of the head (where, if fully developed, what we call a halo would appear). Energy flows through these channels in ascending and descending motions, forming a sort of spiral, rotating like a wheel. Of these seven chakras, the lower and upper are simple, while the remaining five are composed of a corresponding anterior and posterior chakra. The primary function of the chakras is to absorb universal energy, metabolize and nourish the various aspects of the human being, and finally radiate energy outward. More simply, we can say that the chakras are energy centers that govern various functions, not only of the body but also of the psyche. Each of the chakras has different meanings and characteristics.
