Japanese byōbu two-panel folding screen (174 × 74 × 1.5 cm) in good condition with slight signs of aging, painted with flowers by Murayama Ukei (b. 1947) dating circa 1910–1950.

Subject: Mei-fū no Michi 名風の路
Remarkable two-panel folding screen - It mainly depicts beautiful flower paintings in great detail, showing the creator superb painting and dyeing skills and creative inspiration, the flowers seemed to have been given life, vibrant and lively. are accompanied by the creator signature on the corner and backside.
Artist: Murayama Ukei村山雨景 Murayama Ukei learned hand weaving and dyeing from his parents from the age of 15, and at the age of 20 went to Kyoto to train, mastering Japanese painting, hand-painted Hon-Yuzen dyeing, and hand-painted Bateki dyeing. After training in hand-painted Hon-Yuzen and batik dyeing in Kyoto, he invented his own unique technique, "Ukei Dyeing," which skillfully repeats wax and dyeing. Using the techniques used to dye kimonos, he has created a unique world of paintings, showcasing beautiful and heartwarming landscapes from his hometown, Japan, and overseas.
He was first selected for the 18th Bisho Exhibition in 1976, and has since won Encouragement Awards and Special Awards at the same exhibition, and has been active in reporting and holding solo exhibitions both in Japan and abroad. In 2017, he held the "Dream Hometown Exhibition" in Tokamachi City, and in 2018, he held the "World of Giant Beauty," an exhibition celebrating his 55th anniversary of creation, at the Nagaoka Art Center.
