Waterman Ripplke No. 7 Purple fountain pen in celluloid, about 143 mm long and 12 mm in diameter, produced in the United States in the first half of the 20th century, in good used condition and in working order, with a Waterman’s Ideal 14K nib and a lever self‑filling system.
Description from the seller
Original vintage fountain pen, kept in very good overall condition for its age. The body and cap, made of hard rubber (ebonite), feature an attractive mottled red and black pattern that remains well-defined and visually intense, with a uniform shine. Micro surface marks and natural patina are visible, typical of use and age, with no cracks, fissures, or visible repairs.
The cap fits properly and retains its decorative rings with a good level of definition. The metal elements show slight wear and patina consistent with age, with no deformations or structural losses.
The original Waterman's Ideal nº 7 nib in solid 14K gold is complete, aligned, and structurally sound, with a natural patina. No cracks or welds are observed. It exhibits the moderate flexibility characteristic of this model.
The Self-Filling lever-loading system is present and complete; it has not been recently tested with ink, so inspection or replacement of the bag is recommended before continued use.
Overall, it is an honest piece, well-preserved and free of modern modifications, ideal for both collection and occasional use after servicing, standing out for its classic aesthetic and for belonging to one of Waterman’s most emblematic models.
It will be sent in a courtesy box for proper preservation.
