Description from the seller
Very rare sketch of a horse figure; made with acrylic and Japanese ink on 300-gram paper.
Davide Cocozza was born in Bari in 1982, in a land of light and sea that would profoundly influence his artistic sensitivity.
From a very young age, he shows a natural attraction to drawing and painting, understood not just as simple techniques, but as a language for understanding the world.
After high school at the Artistic High School, he studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma, where he graduated with top honors in Painting.
Who comes into contact with the pulsating heart of contemporary art, among studios, museums, and performative experiments.
At the same time, he deepens his study of art therapy, convinced that art can become a tool for healing, listening, and transformation.
Her journey moves across multiple levels: visual artist, performer, teacher, and art therapist.
Cocozza's painting style is immediately recognizable: animals, symbolic figures, and frontal gazes that question the viewer.
They are images that speak of fragility, responsibility, and a humanity on the edge.
Participates in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Italy and abroad, including biennials, fairs, and international projects.
Receives awards and recognitions, including the D’Annunzio Prize and mentions in important contemporary art reviews.
Alongside painting, she develops a strong performative practice, where the body and gesture become a form of protest and secular prayer.
As a curator and artistic director, he/she brings to life major cultural events, including biennials and group exhibitions focused on environmental and social themes.
His view of art is deeply ethical: the image is never neutral, but takes a stance.
As a teacher, bring this awareness into schools, shaping new generations through art as a human experience before an aesthetic one.
Today, Davide Cocozza lives and works in Puglia, continuing a consistent and passionate research.
An art that asks not only to be looked at but understood.
And especially, shared.
