Description from the seller
Original work by Mimmo Rotella, undisputed master of décollage and a central figure in European art of the second half of the 20th century.
The works belong to the renowned cycle dedicated to cinema, in which Rotella reworks original cinematic posters through the technique of tearing and reassembling, transforming the popular image into a powerful contemporary visual language. The torn fragments, overlapped and reassembled, generate a dynamic tension between image and memory, between cultural icon and artistic gesture.
The subject 'Relazioni pericolose' emerges as a visual palimpsest, in which faces, titles, and colors dissolve and reemerge, yielding a fragmented and vibrant narrative. The paper material, marked by time and the artist's physical intervention, becomes a fundamental expressive element, an unmistakable stylistic signature of Rotella's research.
The works are signed by hand and feature the dry stamp of the Mimmo Rotella Foundation, an element that guarantees their authenticity and enhances their collectible value.
