Description from the seller
S.T. Dupont Maki-e lighter
This Line 2 lighter is a true work of art, crafted using the centuries-old Japanese technique of Maki-e: each piece is carefully handmade by skilled artisans who apply precious gold and silver powders to bring the images to life with unmatched elegance and depth. To achieve this result, an artisan spends about 12 hours creating each design on a lighter.
Artisans use different layers of gold dust of varying sizes, creating highly complex designs. By adjusting the concentration and different consistencies of the gold dust, they achieve a wide range of stunning effects that bring unique details to life.
Every piece of the maki-e collection is meticulously handcrafted by skilled artisans, using precious materials such as mother-of-pearl.
gold and silver dust, making this collection truly one of a kind.
Due to the complex artisanal craftsmanship, the production process takes a lot of time.
The Japanese artisans who create the decorations are able to produce only 30 pieces every two months, highlighting the rarity and exclusivity of this collection.
