Walter Valentini, Le citta del sole, 1989, a limited edition etching and aquatint (172/200) in excellent condition, hand-signed by the artist.
Description from the seller
Le citta del sole|Walter Valentini
This artwork by Italian artist Walter Valentini (1928–2022) embodies his signature precision of geometry and architectural imagination.
His work is deeply inspired by the Renaissance concept of the "ideal city", reflecting a utopian sense of balance and structure.
Through the use of lines, circles, and arches, Valentini visualizes harmony within incompleteness — an equilibrium between space and order.
Created in 1989, this etching and aquatint edition (No. 172/200) exemplifies his mastery of printmaking, combining meticulous engraving with elegant embossing effects.
The subtle use of gold accents and the tactile quality of the handmade paper create an atmospheric, luminous composition.
Hand-signed in pencil by the artist.
The work is mounted on a 2 mm board; the back is not visible due to the mounting.
