Description from the seller

This splendid oil painting by Ludovico Toso Tosi, titled "Navigli di Milano," captures a captivating scene of an urban navigable canal on via Laghetto in 1800.
On the canal side, old houses with warm tones rise up, with some details like red and white striped curtains adding a splash of lively color. In the background, beyond the closer buildings and a small arched bridge, the unmistakable profiles of Milan are recognizable: a bell tower of a church and, on the left, the unmistakable, almost ethereal and whitish silhouette of the Duomo's spires.

The overall atmosphere is one of serene daily life in a Milan of a bygone era, with a beautiful contrast between the rustic architecture of the Navigli and the distant Gothic grandeur.

Painting created by the painter Ludovico TOSO TOSI.
On the front, a small dedication as shown in the photo.

Canvas size: 40x50 cm
Frame size: 53x63 cm

Painting purchased from a private collector, Italy.

Please carefully observe the photographs as they are an integral part of this description. Tracked shipping, including secure packaging, any customs duties, and taxes, will be at the buyer's expense.
