Paesaggio, an original tempera painting by Scuola europea (XX), 1964, Italy, in good condition, 50 × 59 cm, signed, sold with frame.
Description from the seller
Painted dimensions: approximately 34x43 cm.
Temper on cardboard.
Signed and dated at the bottom left, 1964.
Provenance: personal collection
Refined tempera on cardboard, dated 1964, offers a lyrical and concise vision of the landscape, focusing entirely on chromatic harmony and the verticality of forms. The scene is built around a group of trees that stand out against an evocative sky.
The artist uses the tempera technique to achieve matte and velvety surfaces, working with confident and swift strokes. The contrast between the dark, barren trunk on the left and the denser canopies of the nearby trees creates a dynamic visual rhythm, while the foreground ground, dotted with bluish reflections, hints at the presence of water or cool shaded areas. The work, set in an elegant frame with a fabric passe-partout, stands out for its ability to evoke an atmosphere of silent contemplation, typical of a pictorial search that favors the emotion of color over the precision of detail.
Frame as a gift: no disputes regarding its condition will be accepted.
For purchases outside the EU, shipping times may be long due to the documents required for the export of artworks over 70 years old. It is not recommended to place bids for shipments to non-EU countries.
