Koya is a French DPLG architect by trade and has been a painter since adolescence. Realizing projects focused on Californian architectures, both private and public, he has long been passionate about American architecture from the 1940s-1960s. For his creations, he is notably inspired by architects and designers such as Mallet-Stevens, Le Corbusier, Gropius, Mies van der Rohe, Arne Jacobsen, Gio Ponti, Frank Lloyd Wright, Rietveld, Niemeyer, Alvar Aalto…
He uses for his pictorial creations the AutoCAD Architecture software which allows him to model buildings in 3D. Following that, in the manner of David Hockney whom he venerates, he uses his graphic tablet to paint his “model,” radically transforming these architectures into magical landscapes.
These works reflect inspirations from David Hockney, but also from Thierry Lefort, Ruslan Kolomiyets, Lionel Borla as well as photographers Richard Dunkley and Slim Aarons.
Dive now into the unique and magnificent universe of Koya for a journey you will not want to end.
