Description from the seller
Creating 'I Want to Live,' I aimed to capture the threshold moment — that extraordinary, primal force that compels life to persist even in the most adverse conditions. This image is, for me, a manifesto of resilience.
I decided on a raw, almost monumental texture reminiscent of old tree bark or a cracked, rocky wall. Earthy browns, cool grays, and deep black dominate here. These vertical lines and cracks symbolize the weight of time, trauma, or difficult experiences that each of us faces.
Dark, vertical streaks crossing the canvas give the composition a certain unease. These are 'dead ends,' shadows that sometimes surround us.
Among this harshness, I placed the dandelions. Why them? Because they are common flowers, yet indestructible. Their intense yellow is the only pure color in the painting – the point where all energy and the will to survive are concentrated. They do not ask for permission to grow; they simply push through the darkness.
"I Want to Live" is not just a picture of nature. It is a portrait of the human psyche. I wanted the viewer, looking at these small flowers against the backdrop of a mighty, dark wall, to feel that vitality will always find a crack to emerge outward. It is a celebration of perseverance, resilience, and the beauty that is born from hardship.
For me, this image is a reminder: no matter how 'hard' and dark the surroundings seem, there is always room to bloom.
