Description from the seller
Primordial Threshold (First Abstract Period)
Technique: Enamels on canvas
Measurements: 50 x 70 cm.
Unique artwork, complete with the Artist's Authentication and Certificate of Authenticity.
This work represents a valuable testimony of Antonio Sciacca's early abstract period, a phase in which the Master transferred his profound knowledge of classical and metaphysical painting into an informal language of rare visual power. In this canvas, the artist abandons defined lines to explore the soul of the material and the energy of gesture.
The composition is dominated by a dramatic and vibrant palette. The dark, almost nocturnal background serves as a stage for an explosion of primary and passionate colors:
Ruby red and magenta: they emerge laterally with a dense application, imparting the work with a vital pulsation and an almost fleshy depth.
Central Light: A column of yellow gold and ochre slices through the canvas vertically, creating a luminous focal point that evokes a 'threshold' or an opening to an inner dimension.
The use of enamels here is masterful; the surface appears glossy, almost glazed or vitrified, allowing light to glide over the layers and accentuate the contrasts between shadowed areas and chromatic peaks.
Sciacca's first abstract period is of particular interest to the contemporary art market, as it marks a moment of rupture and pure exploration. The work does not aim to depict the external world but to evoke universal states of mind through the contrast between order (the central verticality) and chaos (the free brushstrokes on the sides).
The 50 x 70 cm format guarantees a grand stage presence, making the piece a central element for collections celebrating the transition from figurative painting to material abstraction. The completeness of the documentation (Authentic and Certificate) ensures full traceability and value over time.
