Description from the seller
Guy Bazin de Jessey (France, c. 1904–1984)
Floral still life
Composition depicting a bouquet of vibrant red, white, and yellow flowers arranged in a vase, placed on a table against a dark background. The work features loose, impasto brushstrokes, especially in the floral execution, with an atmospheric treatment of the background through glazing, characteristic of French figurative painting from the first half of the 20th century.
The set stands out for a balanced chromatic contrast and a pictorial execution more than descriptive, within the tradition of decorative still life.
Signed in the lower left corner.
