2005 Bodegas Muga, Torre Muga - Rioja - 3 Bottles (0.75L)

Producer Bodegas Muga is one of the most prestigious and traditional wineries in Rioja, founded in 1932 and still family-owned. The estate is particularly renowned for its commitment to classic winemaking methods, including fermentation in oak vats, in-house cooperage, and long ageing in fine French oak barrels. Torre Muga represents the pinnacle of the winery’s production and is only made in outstanding vintages. Wine Torre Muga 2005 Blend: Tempranillo with small proportions of Mazuelo and Graciano Appellation: DOCa Rioja (Spain) Vintage 2005 The 2005 vintage is widely regarded as one of the greatest modern vintages in Rioja. It produced wines of exceptional structure, depth and balance, with excellent concentration and ageing potential. Torre Muga 2005 is considered one of the reference wines of the vintage, combining power, elegance and remarkable longevity. Storage and current condition This bottle has been stored since its release in a natural underground cellar, under ideal and stable conditions: constant cool temperature, appropriate humidity and complete darkness. It has never been exposed to heat, light or temperature fluctuations. Fill level is high, with capsule and label in very good condition. The wine is in excellent condition, perfectly preserved. Tasting profile Complex and intense aromatic profile with ripe black fruits, blackberry and plum, combined with notes of cedar, tobacco, leather, spice and balsamic nuances. On the palate, it is full-bodied and structured, yet refined, with polished tannins, fresh acidity and a long, persistent finish. Drinking window Fully mature but still evolving positively. Ready to drink now with decanting, yet capable of further ageing. Optimal drinking period: 2023–2035, potentially beyond with continued proper storage.
