Description from the seller
One More Moment - Anna Barone
One more moment is a work that arises in a space of suspension, in that inner time when everything seems about to transform but is held back for just a little longer.
The composition unfolds through fluid and layered brushstrokes, where warm tones of copper and earth converse with aquatic depths of green and turquoise. The material moves like a slow current, crossed by marks, abrasions, and glazes that suggest an emotional landscape rather than a real one: a place that does not exist outside, but only within.
The work is part of the artist's exploration of the themes of interior thresholds and the horizons of the soul: abstract, dreamlike spaces open to the viewer's interpretation, where imperfection and matter become an integral part of the expressive language.
Concept Series 'Suspended Horizons'
This work belongs to my pictorial journey dedicated to 'Suspended Horizons,' a quest born from the encounter between water and intuition. In these canvases, fluid matter constructs inner landscapes—imagined visions that do not depict real places but states of mind, perceptual thresholds, and fragments of ephemeral beauty.
The surface develops through light layers, transparencies, and sparse patches that evoke silence, anticipation, and the breath of suspended time. In some works, essential signs emerge — stylized blooms, floating corollas, reflected trees — symbolic presences that amplify the meditative and dreamlike aspect without imposing a closed narrative. The series remains an ongoing process, open to gestural and formal variations, faithful to a poetics of the unsaid and the threshold.
Artist Statement
My work explores the fluid nature of water and its ability to generate shapes, movement, and light. Through watercolors, inks, and light glazes, I translate this energy into abstract visions that evoke calm, mystery, and introspection.
I paint landscapes of the unconscious: suspended horizons, reflected trees, inner blooms. Each work is an invitation to slow down, to get lost, to 'breathe with the eyes.' I let the water guide the process, embracing imperfections and fleeting traces as fragments of truth.
Welcome to my dreams on canvas.
