Omas Paragon fountain pen, Italy, celluloid, second half of the 20th century, in excellent used condition, about 14.5 cm long when closed with a 13 mm diameter.
Description from the seller
Fountain pen made by Omas (Officine Meccaniche Armando Simoni). This is a rare example, a writing instrument crafted in mottled brown celluloid with a pearlescent effect that gives the pen a charm so captivating that it has become a true cult color of the Bologna-based company.
The company OMAS was founded in 1925 by Armando Simoni and closed its doors in 2016.
The Paragon collection was created by Armando Simoni. From its inception, the 12 faceted sides and the roll clip define a unique style in the Italian writing industry. To match this masterpiece, Omas Paragon, it was decided to use only the best celluloid in this collection.
OMAS writing instruments have always been distinguished by their exclusive design, conceived and entirely crafted by OMAS in the Bologna workshop. They highlight the typical features of the Made in Italy style and represent a benchmark of Italian excellence and creativity in the fountain pen sector.
All OMAS pens are handcrafted in the Bologna workshop.
Every writing instrument is the result of a multitude of delicate manual operations: it can take more than 100 steps to produce a celluloid fountain pen.
In recent years of operation, OMAS has gradually reduced the production of writing instruments to further improve their quality.
Each of these majestic pens contains a piece of Italian history.
The fountain pen is in excellent condition.
Closed length: approximately 14.5 cm.
Length with the hood on: approximately 17.3 cm.
Diameter: about 1.3 cm.
