Description from the seller
A dive into the light of the South
M. Faliero's work is not just a photograph of the Coast but an emotional interpretation. As soon as you look at the painting, your eye is drawn to the explosion of colors on the left: there are these climbing bougainvillea, almost wild, embracing the remains of an ancient column. It is an immediate call to the history and classicism of these places, where the ancient coexists harmoniously with lush nature.
The journey of the gaze
From the foreground terrace, the view invites you to look down towards the sea, following the sinuous line of the coast. Faliero paints the village houses not with architectural precision, but with lively brushstrokes, made of lights and shadows, which evoke the reflection of the sun on the light-colored walls. One can almost perceive the distant hum of the village and the calm movement of the boats dotting the intense blue of the water.
The atmosphere and the style
What strikes about this 60x60 is the depth. Although it is a flat surface, the skillful use of color and 'material' (you can see the bold, dense brushstrokes) creates a perspective that leads straight to the horizon, where the sea meets a bright, slightly veiled sky.
It is a painting that does not seek absolute realism but aims to convey the 'Mediterranean spirit': that sense of warmth, peace, and breathtaking beauty that makes our coast famous worldwide.
