This work belongs to the French gestural abstraction movement of the 1970s, characterized by dense material work and expressive gestures. The composition relies on a dynamic construction, alternating knife impasto, brushed passages, and scratched areas, creating a strong presence of surface and texture.
The palette, dominated by deep greys, blacks, and off-whites, is accentuated with orange touches, giving the overall composition a visual tension and chromatic depth typical of the period.
