Description from the seller

Pipe masterpiece by Leonardo Airaghi (1929/2010).Unique and unrepeatable piece.
Leonardo Airaghi, known in the pipe world as “Dino da Campione,” was one of the most mysterious, rare, and sought-after artisans in the history of Italian pipe-making.
Born in Milan in 1929, he spent most of his life working as a department head at the Campione d’Italia Casino. In those rooms frequented by millionaires, diplomats and international nobility, Dino began — during breaks from work — to carve his pipes entirely by hand.
Dino's Philosophy
Airaghi transferred into the pipe the concept of a 'unique work' typical of sculptural art:
Each piece was born following the natural grain of the burl; no series, no repetition; classical forms but shaped like micro-sculptures.
Polishing using only natural waxes.
Extremely rare rusticatures (yours is one of those!)
The Legend of Robustness
Dino had an obsession:
A pipe that travels from Italy to Florida or Singapore should not be able to break.
To test the strength: he would throw the pipes against a rock or against the wall of his laboratory.
Only when a pipe withstood without chipping would he consider it worthy of being delivered.
From here the ito:
The Pipedi Dino are eternal.
