Description from the seller
Oil painting on canvas, 60x90 cm, unique piece.
This work addresses the universal theme of the relationship between man and woman through a symbolic and emotional language. The composition is dominated by the visual dialogue between two seemingly opposing elements: the female figure, small and light, and the male hands, large and present.
Although depicted on a reduced scale, the woman is portrayed in her complete essence: not fragile, but fully 'woman.' Her pose suggests balance, grace, and awareness, implying autonomy and identity. The man's hands, despite their imposing size, do not appear invasive or oppressive. On the contrary, they become a space of welcome, protection, and completion.
The relationship between proportions is not hierarchical but harmonious: strength does not overshadow delicacy but supports it. Man and woman define each other, finding meaning only in the relationship that unites them. The work thus becomes a visual metaphor of romantic understanding, seen as a balance between presence and freedom, between protection and respect.
The warm color palette, dominated by reds, ochre, and earth tones, amplifies emotional engagement and helps create an intimate and timeless atmosphere. The soft and enveloping oil brushstroke guides the viewer's gaze without distraction, leaving space for a symbolic and personal interpretation of the work.
