Adela M.’s double‑sided original batik painting of an nude figure, titled akt - batik (wab wax painting), created in 2000–2010 in an Expressionist style, measuring 52 cm high by 75 cm wide, with an explicit hand signature and origin Poland.
Description from the seller
A double-sided artwork, executed in the batik technique. Batik involves applying hot wax to fabric, then repeatedly dyeing it in dye baths. A characteristic feature of batik is the network of cracks formed by the wax cracking. It is a very, very labor-intensive, time-consuming, and unpredictable technique. As seen in the photos, batik is double-sided; when illuminated from behind or hung in front of a window, it takes on vivid colors like stained glass.
Batik is traditionally mounted in bamboo, which allows the work to be shipped rolled up in a scroll. If, however, someone prefers framed pictures, it is easy to remove the staples that attach the batik to the bamboo.
The author of the work is Adela Marchewka, a graduate of higher artistic studies with a Master of Arts degree. After her studies, she explored the secrets of batik (wax painting) and attended the Open Academy in the Faculty of Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. She has participated in numerous exhibitions. Member of the Polish Association of Fine Artists.
Batik is shipped rolled up in a tube. Shipping with a tracking number will be carefully secured and sent within 3 business days. Local pickup is available.
