Description from the seller
Tropical Girl is a 70x100 cm painting by contemporary artist Ernest García. This painting depicts a seated female figure, enveloped in a vibrant and exuberant atmosphere. The protagonist, with a serene gaze and introspective expression, naturally integrates into an environment dominated by intense colors and bold contrasts. The pink background, flat and round, acts as an emotional field that enhances the presence of the greens, yellows, and blues running through the composition.
The parrots, arranged on both sides of the scene, introduce a dialogue between the human and the natural, adding rhythm, symmetry, and an almost symbolic character. Their bright colors reinforce the tropical imagery and emphasize the feeling of heat, abundance, and life. The blue dress of the figure, sprinkled with light flowers, becomes a central element that balances freshness and sensuality, connecting the figure with the surrounding vegetation.
The brushstroke is loose, expressive, and visible, giving the work a contemporary and pictorial air that references both illustration and the tradition of Fauvism and modern portraiture. Beyond a specific scene, the painting suggests a mood: calmness, contemplation, and a certain luminous melancholy, as if time had stopped in an intimate moment within a chromatic paradise.
